Jinan, November 11 (people's daily) in the early morning of November 11, with the success of the impact power transmission of the newly expanded 1000 kV transformer substation, the expansion project of quanzheng 1000 kV substation, the first UHV substation in Shandong Province, operated smoothly.

It is reported that Quancheng 1000 kV substation is the hub substation of the super grid in our province, and it is also an important clean energy channel of the national air pollution prevention and control plan. As the receiving substation of Ximeng Shandong UHV AC project, the station has delivered 38.76 billion kwh of clean energy from other provinces in Shandong Province since it was put into operation in 2016 to October 31, 2019. During the peak period of power load in winter and summer, the clean energy from other provinces delivered by the station effectively made up for the power load gap in Shandong Province and greatly eased the power shortage.

The expansion project of Quancheng station includes 2 sets of 1000 kV transformers and 6 sets of 110 kV Capacitor Bay. The rated capacity of a single transformer is up to 3 million KW. After being put into operation, the external power transmission capacity of Quancheng station will be increased by 6 million KW, which is one of the largest UHV substations in the world. As an important project to ensure the smooth power transmission and operation of the expansion project, the UHV Transformer system needs to undergo 6 commissioning tests, including 1000 kV side switching and 500 kV side switching. The operation lasted for 5 days and accumulated more than 1000 lean operations.

At the same time, the expansion project is also an important part of Shandong Hebei UHV AC loop network, which can comprehensively optimize the grid structure, greatly improve the ability of Shandong UHV power grid to cope with complex environment, ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid, and provide stronger clean energy guarantee for the coming winter peak season.
